Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo
There is hardly a capital city that exudes more excitement than Edinburgh in August. There is so much going on, and one of the highlights is the Tattoo. Today you will have lunch in the hotel before leaving for Edinburgh in the afternoon. You will have a chance to soak-up some of the fringe-festival atmosphere and perhaps take some refreshment before your evening performance begins on the Castle Esplanade. Take your seat and experience Edinburgh’s iconic display of precision music and dance with massed bands, cultural troupes and singers.
(please note some walking and steps will be encountered to reach your seat in the stands and wheelchair access cannot be guaranteed. Lunch is included today instead of dinner)
Museums of Glasgow
Today we visit two of Glasgow’s top museums. The Kelvingrove Art Gallery is one of Scotland’s top attractions and is both an art gallery and museum. It houses a wide range of collections of national and international significance. Glasgow’s Riverside Museum is housed in a modern building and presents fascinating collections with a transport theme and features innovative displays that bring Glasgow’s rich industrial and cultural heritage to life.
Oban & Inveraray
With it’s busy harbour and esplanade, Oban is an ever-popular destination and departure point for ferries to the Western Isles. You will have time to explore and perhaps have lunch in one of the many cafes and restaurants around the harbour. We also stop at Inveraray on the shores of Loch Fyne. Here you may wish to visit the Castle, the famous Jail, or simply browse the shops and cafés and relax in this beautiful waterfront town.
Your tour includes Dinner, Bed & Breakfast each day, excursions and entry fees, as stated
Dinner is replaced by lunch at the hotel on Tattoo day.
